OCCUPATIONAL
HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Overview
Miller Health Management specialises in assessing the occupational health needs
of organisations and their employees. The complexity of the assessment is determined
by:
the size and business needs
of the organisation; |
whether the organisation currently
has any occupational health services; and |
the type of information that is available
from the organisation. |

Components of the Assessment
The occupational health needs assessment is undertaken in 2 stages:
Stage 1: Data collection and assessment.
Stage 2: Tour of the site(s) and interviews with key staff and a cross-section
of employees.
Upon completion of the needs assessment, a management report
is provided which:
identifies the organisation’s health and safety needs and
whether these needs are currently being met; |
recommends practical and cost effective solutions which will
meet these needs; |
prioritises what action needs to be taken; |
determines the costs of implementing these initiatives; |
assesses net corporate benefit; |
provides benchmarks to measure the organisation’s subsequent
performance through periodic reviews. |
