HEALTH ASSESSMENTS FOR REGULAR BUSINESS TRAVELLERS AND THOSE ASSIGNED ABROAD

Health assessments for existing and prospective employees intending to travel abroad regularly on business, as well as for periods of overseas assignment, focus on identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate action. The examination enables the occupational physician to ensure that the intending traveller:

		does not have any pre-existing health problems which may be exacerbated by travel or an assignment abroad, and that base line health information is obtained on their health;
		receives the appropriate immunisations and advice on prescriptions to be taken abroad;
		receives appropriate health advice regarding the personal and health risks associated with the locations they are visiting or are being assigned to;
		has a point of contact upon returning from a business trip/assignment in the event that he/she feels unwell.
